On public display

Since the beginning of summer I've been organising an exhibition at Nexus Art Cafe in Manchester, Northern Quarter.
Inspired by our work experience at Lymm Festival, and our feedback, we wanted to exhibit our fungi somewhere else.

So we've been experimenting with things to get some new ideas. Here I was trying to make a string ball, the proccess of which is to stick string round and round a balloon with PVA, then pop the balloon. Your supposed to be left with an empty shell made of string, but mine just flopped and the string followed the shape of the rapidly deflating balloon. The shape is interesting though! And I've been working with wire in other work experience so there could be scope for something quite weird here.

We are also designing the window display for Nexus and the working title at the moment is 'Reconsidered: an exploration of the unwanted'. We are going to make 3D lettering spelling out 'Reconsidered' to hang in the window. Recycled materials we be used to make them and maybe even hang them. Below is just one of my idea for a letter, made out of old wiring it also succeeds in hanging itself as well as making a letter.

The general theme for the room will be the aftermath of a flood! So the room will have an overall appearance of destruction but each component will be made beautifully and will be interesting to look at. The lettering will also follow this theme.

These are a few sketches of the type objects and story telling features we could have in the display. I apologise for the quality of the pictures.
