Wrapping objects

We ended up wrapping things after creating moods boards inspired by our drawings. I started wrapping an orange and I'm not really sure why, I think it was just what sprang to mind from the colour palette, but it actually turned out to be something quite interesting. I started creating a new skin for the orange and by cutting out the insides I revealed the structural integrity of it.

This next step really tested the limits of the orange. I managed to make a kind of thread or cord through wrapping it. It was extremely flexible and a great way of taking the orange out of its typical round shape!

The dried up samples were even nicer than the strong new ones, in my opinion. All the textures and uneven patterns have been created completely naturally and without any influence from me, which I like. It's good when work makes itself.
